Burt’s Bees Baby Bee Shampoo & Wash
Promise: Leaves baby’s hair and skin silky soft.
The only kind of shampoo and wash that I want to use on my little baby is the kind that is free of harsh chemicals and as natural as possible. When my baby started having eczema outbreaks while only 2 months old, I did not really know to do. I was vary to use cortisteroid creams on her, although our family doctor felt strongly that I should.
I found Burt’s Bees Baby Bee Shampoo & Wash at my local supermarket, in the Organic section. First thing I noticed was that it was 96.08% natural and contains Coconut Oil which I thought was a great thing. I bought the product and ever since then I’ve been using it on my little baby (she’s now 16 months old). While, technically, it did not do anything for her eczema (not that I expected it anyway, as there was no claim on the shampoo for such thing), it did not aggravate her eczema further, like some other products that claim to soothe eczeema outbreaks (Aveeno soothing bath treatment with oatmeal).
Anyway, Burt’s Bees Baby Bee Shampoo & Wash has great and very mild scent. I only need a little bit to wash my baby from head to toe. The thing that deligthens me is that it rinses so easily and fast from her hair, since she really doesn’t like when I rinse her hair as doesn’t like having water on her eyes. This product is very smooth and perfect for her sensitive skin.
I should mention that my baby has been tested positive of egg white and nuts allergies (this was the cause of her eczema, since I was breastfeeding her and had in my diet both eggs and nuts. Ever since I eliminated eggs and nuts from my diet, her eczeema never appeared again). I started using this product before I knew she was allergic to peanuts and tree nuts and this shampoo has coconut oil in it. However, it never caused her any problems, so I just kept using it even when I found out she was allergic to tree nuts (and coconut belongs to tree nuts). However, for all other moms, I would not recommend that you use this product if your baby has tree nut allergy, since you don’t know how severe baby’s allergic reaction can be.
Other than that, once my baby is done taking a bath, I follow with Baby Bee Buttermil Lotion.
Great products, both of them, and would recommend it to everyone!
