Maybelline New York Pure Concealer

Promise: Anti-acne treatment stick that conceals imperfections.

This Maybelline Pure Concealer is in shape of a pencil.  So far, I’ve preferred liquid concealers as it was easier to apply them to my face.  However, as it was recommended by Dr. Baumann’s test that I did on my skin type to use Maybelline Pure makeup and powder, I’ve decided to buy a concealer from the same type of product.

It’s says on instructions to clean your face and then apply concealer to affected areas.  As I would never really go out without makeup, I actually first applied foundation to my face and then covered up imperfections with concealer. It actually did a very good job.  This concealer is dry and true to my skin colour, which I was surprised with as they come only in three shades: light, medium and dark.  Light appeared perfectly normal on my skin, it didn’t make it yellow or pink, just stayed natural, so I was happy with results.  It covered up my affected area very well.  I can’t really tell if it does much for acne.  I mean, I see it has 2% salicylic acid as active ingredient, which is great and makes me feel more comfortable in fact that my makeup actually does something good for my skin.

I think that I would still prefer that this concealer came in liquid form, it is kind of easier to apply - like the one from L’Oreal.  Other than that, I like it as it blend very well with my makeup, and I’ll keep using it for some time, maybe I’ll see some more improvement on my skin.  But, for people that have more blemishes, I think they would need something stronger for coverage than this concealer.
